Private Events at SJFX
Hosting a private event at SJFX means treating your guests to some of the best. St. John’s has great food, warm hospitality, and one of the best harbour views in the city. Whether you picture a relaxed cocktail reception, a seated dinner, or something a little more unique like an oyster and wine station, our team will work closely with you to make sure every detail feels effortless and true to your vision.
We offer a range of pre-set menu and drink options, and you are always welcome to collaborate with our Hosts to create something more personal. Our team has planned everything from intimate dinners to large celebrations, and we take pride in creating events that feel seamless and thoughtfully tailored.
Private dining
Our private dining room is perfect for groups of 10 to 16. It is often chosen for intimate celebrations, executive dinners, and small presentation-style gatherings. The space offers a comfortable, private setting suitable for both professional and social events.
Twine Loft Mezzanine
The Twine Loft Mezzanine seats up to 40 guests and is located on our second floor, offering beautiful views of the harbour and a unique perspective over the busy Main Dining Room. It provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere that works beautifully for corporate dinners, special occasions, and group events looking for something a little more distinctive.
Please note that the Mezzanine is not mobility friendly. If accessibility is a consideration, we are happy to help find the right space for your group.
Twine Loft Mezzanine

Full Venue Experience
For events that call for a truly memorable setting, you can reserve the entire St. John’s Fish Exchange. This option works beautifully for weddings, large corporate gatherings, and milestone celebrations.
We can accommodate up to 147 guests for a seated event or up to 200 for a cocktail-style reception. A full venue reservation includes complete access to the restaurant, including the bar and mezzanine areas. Arrival drinks, coat check, and other personalized touches can be arranged to enhance your guests’ experience. Our team has hosted a wide range of large events and will guide you through the planning process from start to finish.
